Started Male Drahthaar Available

Enzo is currently about 63/64cm tall and weighs about 63lbs.  He will surely get a little bigger, but will remain a medium-sized Drahthaar male.  He is a very friendly and passionate boy with a lot of drive to hunt.  He has a medium-range search.  He points and backs/honors really well for his age.  He has completed force-fetch training and his retrieving is outstanding.  He always delivers everything to hand and sits nicely to present.  He loves to retrieve pheasants, ducks, rabbits, raccoons, dummies, or any other piece of game.  Enzo loves the water and is always hoping we will let him have one more water retrieve before getting back into the truck.

Enzo currently lives in the house with us and our other (female) Drahthaar.  He can be a little shy when first meeting a new dog, but warms up quickly.  He gets along great with our other DD.  I think he would prefer living in another household with dogs.  I also think he could adapt to being the only dog in the house.  He is an affectionate guy and likes getting a lot of attention.  He can be very vocal when he is excited (like right before a walk, or anytime he is about to be released for a retrieve or any type of training).  He can be a little reserved when he meets new people, but quickly adapts and is eager for more petting.  He is housebroken, up to date on all of his vaccinations, and crate-trained.  He is very quiet in his crate every night, anytime we are both gone from the house during the day, and whenever he is crated in the truck.  He is very obedient (knows sit, stay, down, heel, come, and fetch) when not in the presence of game.  In the presence of game, his obedience is still pretty good for his age :-)  He is e-collar conditioned and familiar with the Halt whistle (i.e. he usually listens to it but isn't 100% consistent yet).  

Enzo is a very handsome Draht with a very dense and harsh coat.  He is Ff for furnishings with very good coverage throughout his body.  He does have a pretty substantial beard coming in, but otherwise has an extremely low-maintenance coat. 

Enzo is currently registered to run in the HZP on Sunday, September 10th.  We are hoping to place him in a home where he would be run in his VJP in Spring 2024.
